This programme has been written to meet the needs of students and newly registered Paramedics and Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, Voluntary Aid Society Responders, Health Care Assistants and anyone with a personal or professional interest in expanding their knowledge of ECG interpretation.

The course will be of particular interest to Registered Health Professionals such as Pharmacists and Physiotherapists entering the urgent or primary care sectors with responsibility for assessing, referring, treating or discharging service users with medical conditions.

This intensive 1-day course will offer delegates the ability to confidently recognise subtle ECG changes during acute coronary syndromes, diagnose arrhythmias such as Wolf Parkinson White and Long QT syndrome, consider electrolyte imbalances such as hyperkalaemia and recognise conditions such as left and right ventricular hypertrophy.

Delegates should be employed in a healthcare field or studying towards a healthcare qualification with a responsibility or a professional interest in interpreting 12 lead EGCS.

Delegates should be familiar with the anatomy and physiology of the heart, have knowledge of ECG interpretation and/or have completed the CIPHER 1-day ECG Crammer Course.

On completion of the course, delegates will be issued with a certificate of attendance.

Parking

Under new heading Parking to all courses add “There is limited parking on site due to 24 hour operational staff use. There is ample on street parking nearby, but delegates are encouraged to cycle, use public transport or car share where possible. Please follow government guidance on transport during COVID-19 control measures.

By foot – We are based just under a mile from Stockton High Street (approx 15 minutes’ walk).

A workbook will be provided. Students may want to bring a pen and paper, laptop or tablet for note making or reference during the day

Pre Course Reading / Learning

Students should complete the CIPHER Medical 12 Lead ECG Crammer Course prior to attending unless confident in 12 lead ECG interpretation. 

Refreshments

Tea and Coffee is complimentary throughout the day. You
will need to arrange your own lunch. You are welcome to
bring a packed lunch or there are a number of locations
within a short walk of the hotel.

CIPHER Medical has risked assessed and taken appropriate measures recommended by the UK Government to ensure the safety of delegates and staff taking part in essential face-to-face training, including the provision of appropriate sanitisation facilities and PPE. 

Delegates are encouraged to bring a face covering, however, if you forget we will provide you with one. 

Courses will go ahead subject to any restrictions imposed by the UK Government, including local lockdowns or changes in legislation. CIPHER Medical will do our utmost to provide reasonable notice to all delegates, however, restrictions could be imposed at any time and are beyond our control. Course fees will be refunded for any course cancelled due to COVID-19.
