CEO AND CONSULTANT PARAMEDIC OF CIPHER MEDICAL
Andy Thomas is the founder of CIPHER Medical. He has a wide range of experience in the Pre-Hospital environment including 18 years in the Royal Air Force in which he deployed multiple times to Afghanistan on the Medical Emergency Response Team. Other deployments included Iraq, Africa and he also enjoyed an oversees posting in Cyprus.
He was a research fellow at James Cook University Hospital, has worked on the Critical Care Ambulance Response Unit at the North East Ambulance Service and worked at various trusts around the UK. Andy was the Co-Vice Chair of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and remains a member of the training and standards board.
He has a deep passion of delivering the highest standards of medical care and this inspired him to start CIPHER medical with the aim of “Delivering Clinical Care and Education with Distinction”, ensuring both event medical care and NHS support are delivered in an innovative and patient focused model. He holds various clinical director roles including for Tough Mudder UK, Spartan UK, Essex Fire & Rescue Service, Ultra Events and Durham County Cricket club.
