What is a 12 Lead ECG Basics Training Course?

The 1-Day 12 Lead ECG Basics Training Course is an intensive in-person course, designed to equip you with the thorough knowledge, skills and confidence to competently carry out ECG recordings, assessments and basic interpretations.

Electrocardiograms, also known as ECGs (and sometimes EKGs), are vital non-invasive procedures used across all types of healthcare settings. It’s a diagnostic tool, used to determine the rate, rhythm and electrical activity of the heart.

Our Basic ECG Course guides you through understanding the fundamentals involved in ECGs and their clinical applications, before showing you how to properly record an ECG to obtain high-quality readings. We’ll go through the common challenges you might face when carrying out ECGs while on the job, and how to work around these to ensure every reading is the best it can be.

We’ll then explore interpretations of these readings, covering the basic principles of electrophysiology. You’ll develop the fundamentals needed to read an ECG report and develop the ability to recognise heart rhythms and signs of arrhythmia.

Held at our specialist training facility in Stockton-on-Tees, this ECG Course is the perfect starting point for anyone already working in the healthcare industry or those with an interest in ECG recordings and interpretation. 1. Mrs Ann Class

I have attended CIPHER Medical for a range of courses now including FREC3, FREC4, Safe Administration of Lifesaving Medication, Wound Closure Course and an ECG Course and all courses have been exceptional. Trainers have been really engaging with expert subject knowledge. Facilities are second to none and scenarios are very realistic. Simulation Suite added extra reality. Highly recommended!!!

  2. Yvonne Phillips

Attended the ECG Crammer last week – intense but extremely informative and tells you everything you need to know to start interpreting ECGs in the acute setting! Chris has good knowledge and spent time with students to ensure a good understanding. Would recommend to anyone who records 12 leads during their working day.
