QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) (FREC 3)
This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide prehospital care to patients requiring emergency care/treatment.
Over a 5 day period, learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to deal with a range of prehospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patient’s airways, catastrophic bleeding, management of fractures, medical emergencies and more. The QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) also forms part of a progressive suite of prehospital care qualifications that lead to the QA Level 6 Diploma in Paramedic Practice (RQF).
This course includes learning materials, lunch and refreshments.
Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of the training.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent and have previous first aid experience.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
Candidates who hold the 2 day Level 3 Award for Emergency Responders may be considered for RPL which will lead to a reduced requirement for attendance. They will however need to undertake all assessments.
